REVIEWS - Onesie's Odd Job
Onesie's Odd Job is fantastic! Rather than learning a math rule to determine if a number is odd or even, this book explains and shows students why it is determined by the ones place. After sharing this book with my class, misunderstandings about odd vs. even numbers have virtually disappeared. As an added bonus, it also strengthened students' understanding of place value. It's a must read for every elementary classroom

I think this book really made it fun and exciting for my students to learn about even and odd numbers. I have not found any other books out there that tackle this math area. Mr. Ramsay has made even and odd numbers and fiction reading come together in a very valuable and memorable way for my whole class.

My third grade class absolutely loves the book, Onesie s Odd Job. The clever word choice and vocabulary really help students understand the concept of even and odd numbers. They even learn a little Spanish along the way! The concrete examples and illustrations help all students comprehend the mathematical ideas while being entertained by the story.

Teachers' Choice Award - Judge
This book would be a great resource for grades 1-5, but 3-5 graders would have a greater advantage as they would learn the math rules of place value but it can also clarify misconceptions the students have about the subject.
Teachers' Choice Award - Judge
Yes, I would recommend this book as it does introduce math concepts. This book does a nice job of using fictional characters to teach a concept.
